Experience

I'm a San Diego State University alumnus, with my B.A. in journalism. After graduating in 2011, I worked in local T.V. news before my dad was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. I managed and contributed to my dad’s incredibly popular blog and social media platforms before he passed away, after 11 months of bravely battling and blogging. The diagnosis was a catalyst for building my own social media marketing consultancy, Hannah Jane Media. I write a popular motivational blog (www.hannahnancarrow.com) and I have been honored to be a keynote speaker at San Diego Women's Week and several Relay for Life events. I am also a top fundraiser for cancer-related causes throughout San Diego including Scripps Health, the American Cancer Society, Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure and the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation. Additionally, I am extremely passionate about health and fitness. Since 2011, I've lost more than 60 pounds, and earned my Spinning® and Group Fitness Instructor certifications. I teach weekly cycle classes in Encinitas, California. I'm thrilled to collaborate and help students on their own paths to success. -- Hannah

Hobbies

Hannah Jane Nancarrow is a San Diego native. As a kid, she split her time between her family’s farm in rural North County San Diego and local T.V. newsrooms. Hannah graduated cum laude from San Diego State University with her degree in journalism and media studies. On January 28th, 2013, Hannah’s world was changed forever when her beloved dad was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and given one year to live. On that day, Hannah and her dad started a blog from his hospital room – The Nancarrow Project. Over the next 11 months, The Nancarrow Project blog garnered the acclaim of nearly tens of thousands of followers as Hannah spent her days as co-author and apprentice to her talented journalist father. Loren Nancarrow passed away on December 28th, 2013, after 11 months of bravely battling and blogging. The diagnosis was a catalyst for building her own social media marketing consultancy, Hannah Jane Media. Hannah has since had the opportunity to be a keynote speaker at San Diego Women’s Week, Scripps Concert for Cancer and Relay for Life. Hannah has also teamed up with The San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation, The American Cancer Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, fundraising to help other courageous cancer patients in the fight of their lives. The Nancarrow family has partnered with Scripps Health in hopes of creating The Loren Nancarrow Healing Garden at The Scripps Radiation Therapy Center at Torrey Pines. Today, Hannah writes her own popular motivational blog and has been a keynote speaker at San Diego Women’s Week and Relay for Life, and she is a top fundraiser for cancer-related causes throughout San Diego. Hannah also has cultivated a passion for health and fitness, since losing 60 pounds in 2011. Hannah earned and currently holds Spinning® and group fitness instructor certifications, and teaches weekly cycle classes in Encinitas, California. In her dad’s final blog post, just 2 days before he passed, he wrote, “One of the lessons I’ve learned in life is that happiness lies in discovering your passions and exploring them fiercely.” — and Hannah is doing just that.
